A Monumental Palace-Sized Chinese Export Powder Blue and Gilt Porcelain Charger, Qing Dynasty, 18th century (likely Kangxi period). Measuring an exceptional 20.75 inches in diameter, this large-scale structural charger features a deep cobalt "powder blue" (Chui Qing) blown glaze ground, overlaid with a hand-painted gilt decorative schema. The gilt iconography features a central stylized starburst/sun medallion bordered by four large, symmetrical scrolling pomegranate and floral spray arrangements, a traditional Chinese motif symbolizing fertility, prosperity, and continuous abundance. The reverse reveals a characteristic wide, unglazed shallow wedge-shaped foot rim with gritty kiln biscuit remnants and natural structural iron oxidation spots typical of 18th-century Jingdezhen manufacture. Bears an early handwritten inventory collection label on the reverse. Condition Report: As-Is Condition. The charger features a significant historic structural fracture line extending completely through the body from the upper rim down past the center well, which has been stabilized with an older structural adhesive and fill compound repair. The reverse white-glazed walls exhibit visible patches of a brushed-on stabilizing restoration compound or resin overlay running adjacent to the fracture line to reinforce the repair. The gilded face exhibits expected, age-appropriate thinning, rubbing, and localized fading to the gold leaf decoration, consistent with its 18th-century age. View images carefully. Measures 3"H x 20.75"W.

Condition

Condition Guide: We list damage, repairs, and wear that we are aware of in each listing. No mention of condition does not necessarily mean the Lot is free of issues. Please view the images as part of the description and if necessary, request a condition report. Below is a general definition of how we rate items.
Excellent: Condition is well above what would be expected for a previously owned item. Never worn, or new with tags, No apparent manufacturing flaws. etc.
Very good condition: Well kept, respectfully handled with minimal wear and tear. May have a minor flaw for example a tiny glaze pop, or a few surface scuffs to the underside of a base.
Good condition: No major issues. Expected normal minor wear for age and use.
Generally good condition: One or more items in a group lot or set may have described and/or photographed issue/s. For example: chip in dinnerware, missing rhinestone/s in costume jewelry group lot.
Fair Condition: Multiple issues but in our opinion, worth salvaging. Repairs or major issues will be detailed in the text and the worst shown in images.
Poor Condition: The lot shouldn't be there. Please notify us.
